Retag@ keeps as little data as it can. This page says what it keeps, what it is for and how you get rid of it again.
Who is responsible
The person named in the imprint is responsible. For questions about privacy you can reach them at info@retag.at.
What is stored
- Your account: your email address, an automatically assigned username and your password (only as a hash, never in plain text). Registration needs nothing more.
- Your items: the name and description you enter. The name is visible only to you. The description can be read by anyone who scans the QR code, so don't put an address or other private details in it.
- Messages from finders: the text the person writes. Name and email address are not asked for. Only you as the owner and the operator of the site can see the message.
- Technical data: the IP address is stored when a finder message is sent, so the site can defend itself against abuse and spam. The site's error log is limited to the last 1000 entries.
What the data is used for
Your email address is used for logging in, resetting your password and telling you when someone has found your item. The details of your items are needed so a find can reach you. The legal basis is providing the service (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). The IP address and the log serve the security of the site (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Cookies and tracking
Retag@ uses no tracking, no statistics and no advertising. Nothing is loaded from third-party servers, and the fonts are served from the site itself. While you are logged in, the site sets a session cookie so you stay logged in. It becomes invalid when you log out.
Where the data lives
The site runs at ALL-INKL.COM – Neue Medien Münnich in Germany. The database and the backups are stored there. Email is sent through the same server. Your data is passed on to nobody else.
How long the data is kept
For as long as your account exists. The IP addresses counted for abuse protection are discarded after one hour. Backups are deleted after 14 days.
Your rights
You can ask at any time what data is held about you, have it corrected or deleted, object to its processing and receive it in a common format. Write to info@retag.at. On request, your account including its items and messages is deleted. You also have the right to complain to a data protection authority: to the competent authority, for this site the Bavarian State Office for Data Protection Supervision (BayLDA), or the one where you live.
